This sterling and blue topaz bracelet is part of a collection I've been dreaming of making since I began metalsmithing. Two years ago I spent a month along the clear blue waters of the Adriatic sea, swimming and searching for beautiful shells. There are hundreds of sea urchins along the Croatian coast. The living ones have dangerously long spikes and the dead ones leave beautifully colored and textured shells behind. In the summer, the water is very warm and very salty. The sea is smooth and the waves are small and calm. Making these pieces takes me back to the memories of that place.
